Kinshasa
Welcome to Kinshasa, one of Africa's largest and most electrifying cities, where the mighty Congo River forms its dramatic western border.

There are journeys that take you to a place — and then there are journeys that take you into a world. This is the latter. For 22 days, you will surrender to the rhythm of the Congo River, the second-largest river on Earth, as it carries you through the beating heart of Africa. From the chaotic, music-filled streets of Kinshasa to the remote rainforests where wild bonobos swing through the canopy, this is an expedition for those who crave the extraordinary. You will meet the legendary Wagenia fishermen who dance above thundering rapids, walk through the ruins of colonial grandeur now swallowed by jungle, and sleep on tiny islands where the only sound is the water lapping at the shore. This is not a holiday. This is a homecoming to the wild, untamed soul of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This expedition is designed for adventurous travelers who want to experience the Congo far beyond conventional tourism. It is especially well suited to those interested in river travel, wildlife, cultural encounters and the changing landscapes of the Congo Basin.
Photographers, documentarians, conservation-minded travelers and experienced explorers may find the journey particularly rewarding. The route involves long days on the river, humid conditions, basic accommodation and changing logistics, so flexibility, patience and a genuine interest in remote travel are essential.
